About Dennis Warren

Dennis Warren is a Sacramento, California based attorney focusing on the unique legal and regulatory issues confronting healthcare professionals, healthcare facilities, and the manufacturers and distributors of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.

 

A substantial component of his practice involves counseling clients on Medi-Cal, Medicare and managed care compliance issues as well as representing clients in audits, investigations, monetary recovery efforts and provider status disciplinary actions by these programs. For fifteen years, he acted as chief legal counsel for the California Desposable Medical Supplies Coalition coordinating its lobbying program in the California legislature and its dealings with the Medi-Cal, Medicare, managed care and third-party payors.

 

He has acted as defense counsel for healthcare providers in hundreds of civil, administrative, audit recovery, provider status and licensing board actions in twelve states, including over one hundred twenty five white collar criminal cases.  He has qualified on multiple occasions as an expert witness on the handling of the civil, administrative and criminal defense of health professionals.

 

One of his major services involves working with healthcare providers on legal and regulatory problem solving and solutions. This includes conducting internal audits and investigations, and formulating individualized compliance and training programs. 

 

During the last ten years, much of his legal work has involved the representation of those providing healthcare services to the aging, and advising healthcare not-for-profit entities.

 

His legal presentations and workshops for professionals have been approved for continuing education credit for physicans, pharmacists, therapists, nurses, hopsital and nursing home administrators, adult day healthcare center administrators and attorneys.

 

Since 2005, Dennis has also acted as a Volunteer Clinical Professor in the Department of Pain Medicine at the University of California at Davis School of Medicine.
